ARTIST PROFILE:
Christine lives in Healesville and has been painting professionally for many years. Her technique and painterly application is as unique as her sense of colour and design. Christine, a well-known portrait and landscape artist, travels throughout Australia to paint and collect information for her landscape and genre subjects. The beaches and rainforests of far North Queensland are a favorite destination and a constant source of artistic inspiration.
Christine’s paintings of the Yarra Valley area are sought after by many. She sees this region through the eyes of one who lives locally and understands the subtle blues and intense greens of the area. Many of Christine’s paintings of this region show the vineyard workers set against a backdrop of distant blue mountains and lush green farmland.
Christine has traveled into the outback regions of NSW and Queensland is equally confident painting this harsh arid land with its red /orange and purple glow.
Her work can be found hanging in Parliament house Canberra, Townville’s sister city in Japan and in many other private collections throughout the world and in Australia
Christine is well sought after as a workshop tutor and art judge. She has won many Awards over the years including Fellowship of AGRA, the1997 Phil Baressi Art Award, Sherbrooke Art Society The Frederick McCubbin Award 2004, 2006 Winner Australian Guild of Realist Artists winter Exhibition,
