Gordon Richardson

Winner of the Hans Heysen Award 2010

Gordon lives in inspirational Olinda in the “Blue Dandenongs” near Arthur Streeton’s Longacres.

He has been developing his work in the traditional tonal style in oils, having been tutored by Jeffrey Murphy at Sherbrooke Gallery, but he has also recently discovered the joy of watercolour, especially when travelling.

In deep admiration of the dramatic work of Caravaggio (1571-1610), whose paintings have the impact of a modern film clip, Gordon strives to emulate this in his work, exciting you to wonder what happens next or what is just out of view.
